Today I’m basically a walk New Look. Call me boring but I do love new look, more so in winter than in summer as in summer they tend to go a bit too out there for me. This winter I did a massive splurge in new look and today when I went in town ( admittedly to buy some more) this was my outfit!

Maya Angelou

This post is not beauty or fashion related, it is simply something I want to share about an amazing women who sadly passed away last year on the 28th of May- Maya Angelou.
I first heard about her after in English we were put into groups and read different books. One of the books was ‘I know why the caged bird sings’ by Miss Angelou. To my disappointment, I was not given this book. However knowing she had some connection to Oprah Winfrey, a massive role model of mine, I wanted to find more about her. I started by looking at some of her quotes, just by this I could see how amazing she was as a person- her quotes spoke to me personally and helped me through a lot. My favourite quote is; I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.
Recently for Christmas I was given her completed set of poems. Every poem is amazing, has it’s own voice and strengths.
There is still a lot I need to learn about Maya Angelou, I don’t know her work in full detail like I want to and hopefully will in the future, but already she has helped me so much. I watched a speech from Oprah Winfrey, I’m not sure when it was but I believe it was shortly after Miss Angelou passed away, and she told a story of when Oprah was young and upset about something, and that Miss Angelou’s reply was to be thankful. Not to be sad about whatever it was that she lost, but to be thankful. I think that’s an important nowadays. Sometimes it’s easy to be upset over things that seem so big in our lives, but those are the times to be thankful. No matter what is going on in your life, there will always be one small thing to be thankful for- even if it is just the fact that you’re still alive.

Simple~ Kind To Skin Protecting Moisture Cream

Back in autumn, I found my skin needed some extra care. As a teenager, skin goes through a lot of different stages. I went from one week having perfectly clear skin to only small parts of my face not being covered in spots.
I found that as well as my hormones, my current moisturiser was not helping. I was using another product from Simple called Hydrating Light Moisturiser. I found it was was to oily for me, and just made more spots pop up.
After doing so, I then decided to invest in a new product, Protecting Moisture Cream- also from Simple. It worked so well with my skin, it wasn’t too oily but still left my skin feeling lovely and smooth, and it’s also perfect when on holiday as it has an SPF 30. At the moment in England it doesn’t look as if we will be needing any SPF protection, but it is always good for the future!

Favourite Foundations

I’m very sorry I haven’t updated in a while, the past couple of months were very rushed and I also got hacked, which is why all of my posts were deleted. Anyway, I’m back now and doing a review on my favourite foundations! Hope you like it.

Rimmle London- Lasting Finish

This foundation is really good, also perfect for summertime as it has an SPF of 20 and is very long lasting. It isn’t one of my all time favourites, mainly because it isn’t dewy, but also isn’t quite matte- it’s kind of stuck in the middle and so can sometimes not mix in as well.

Rimmle London- Skin Perfecting Super Makeup BB Cream

I had to buy this foundation after a holiday and my old pale foundations really didn’t go very well! It was perfect for summertime as it had a SPF 25, primes, moisturises, minimises pores and has great coverage.

Rimmle London- Stay Matte

Despite normally only being a fan of dewy foundations, I have fallen in love with this product. It doesn’t have lots of coverage, but can automatically brighten up your skin and have a smooth finish. This is defiantly a brilliant foundation!

Rimmle London- Match Perfection

This is my all time favourite foundation, I think I’ve gone through at least six by now! It’s everything I want; good coverage, dewy, gives skin a glowing look and applies amazingly! I would, and have, recommend this to anyone who likes a dewy foundation!
